About us

GBA Philosophy

As an independent community based 6-12th grade public Charter school, we are educating our students with the academic and entrepreneurial skills necessary to be globally competitive and succeed in the 21st century. By providing a rigorous STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) academic content, engaging entrepreneurial experiences, and learning opportunities through the use of real life skills, our students will be immersed in high technology learning methods that allow them to exceed grade level expectations and become critical thinkers, as they are engaged with dynamic teaching that make them self-motivated, competent, and lifelong learners.

Our enhanced curriculum includes advanced classes with the possibility of college credits, GATE program, a full sports program and a music program.  An entrepreneurial curriculum offering real life experiences from idea conception to production will be integrated into regular course study!  To reinforce the nature of an entrepreneur to our students, community and business leaders will be active in our school for internship programs, guest speaking and mentorships.

Recognizing that students learn at different paces, we use the flipped model of teaching in all of our lessons.  This actively engages students, locks in understanding, builds confidence and generates an enthusiasm for learning.  Supported by service-based, game-based and project-based learning, the classroom is now a place of synergy, catering to all levels of learning.

How are we to travel the world or clinch that business deal, if we cannot speak the language? 🙂 Nǐ hǎo, Bonjour! ¡Hola!  A second language is a must! We offer Mandarin, French and Spanish. College preparation begins in middle school, culminating in an 80 hour professional internship during 12th grade.  Aligned with the student’s career interest, this allows the student to gain real world experience and make the right choice for college course selections.

We support students to develop good character traits such as: honesty, courtesy, self-motivation, organization, good communication, creativity, dependability, compassion, curiosity, determination, perseverance, responsibility and confidence.  All students will be held to a higher academic and character standard to better serve their communities and to understand and internalize the responsibilities of living in a diverse society.

On graduating from GBA, our students will be capable of utilizing technological tools that are constantly changing and integral to the functioning of this modern society.  They will have outstanding personal qualities, and the academic and entrepreneurial prowess to continue education or start their own business; to be truly competitive in a changing global economy.
